After a great 25-yr. run with NAB, I will be stepping out of my role heading the NAB Show team after the next show in April. The official announcement is below. You’ll see the word "transitioning" used in the release. What that means is I am not "retiring" retiring - just moving on to a new phase. I want to take the next several months to figure out what that may look like; I will be seeking some life balance, opportunity to spend time with family, and a new opportunity (or opportunities) that marries my experience and passion for strategy, growing teams and events, and principled leadership with a new challenge. This is something I have been contemplating for 5 or 6 years; the time was never quite right (a CEO transition and Covid changing the plan). And after the pandemic it became a priority to ensure that NAB’s shows would be re-launched and put back on a healthy path. I am proud to say — because of the incredible team at NAB (something that makes the decision much easier; as I know the show will be in great hands) — that has been accomplished. It has been an honor and privilege to be a part of NAB and to serve the broadcast and wider media industry. 25 years is a long stretch. Time for me to write the next chapter.
I should also add a couple of notes: for anyone with an interest in the role or knowledge of someone else that would be a great fit, please feel free to reach out to me. I am fortunate to have been given a some time for the off ramp, and have been asked to be an active participant in finding the right successor; very important to me as I want to ensure the organization, show and (most importantly to me personally), the team continue to flourish. Which goes to another point - for the next 9 months I am ALL-IN here with NAB. Nothing changes there. So, you know where to find me.
